NESIAS ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

 The Anti-Ragging Committee is involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the menace of ragging in the college by adopting an array of activities. The committee is also responsible for conducting awareness programmes from time-to-time on campus. 

Objectives

 The main objective of establishing an Anti-Ragging Committee in the Institution is to create a safe and supportive environment for all students by preventing and addressing incidents of ragging. 

Purpose

 To Prevent, Prohibit, and Redress any and all forms and instances of Ragging in the College. To educate the students on the meaning of ragging and what constitutes it. To educate the students on the ill-effects of ragging and the consequences, including legal consequences of indulging in ragging.

NESIAS ANTI RAGGING SQUAD

 The Anti ragging Committee is authorized to take strict action against the students indulging in ragging and any such action may also call for cancellation of admission of those students or lodging FIR with local/Police authorities against the students found indulged in ragging. 

Objectives

 To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student. 

Purpose

To ensure compliance with the provisions of these Regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging, and also to monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in preventing of ragging in the institution.

To develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute. through promoting cordial Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship etc. 

Objectives

The grievance redressal cell aim to create a conducive and student-centered environment, where grievances are addressed promptly and fairly, ultimately contributing to the overall satisfaction and success of our students.  The objective of the Students Grievance is to provide a transparent and effective mechanism for students to address their concerns, complaints, and grievances. 

Purpose

The cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment.

 Cultural committee is responsible to organize and promote all intra and inter collegiate cultural events in the college to bring out the hidden talents of the students in performing arts. To Plan and make a Schedule of cultural events during the academic year and to encourage students to participate. 

Objectives

 To encourage and promote students' talent in cultural activities within the college. To celebrate the birth and death anniversaries of great leaders and personalities, helping students learn about their contributions and inspiring them to follow their examples. 

Purpose

To encourage students to showcase their creativity and shed their inhibitions. Outcome of Cultural Committee is to create a suitable atmosphere to work as a team and refresh themselves from their routine.

NESIAS NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

 NSS Committee is to enable the students to understand the community in which they work, to understand themselves in relation to their community, to identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process; and to practice national integration and social harmony.  NSS, or the National Service Scheme, is a public service program in India aimed at developing students’ personality through community service. It was launched in 1969 and is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. NSS volunteers work on various social welfare activities, such as literacy and education, health, environment conservation, and disaster management. The program promotes the idea of social responsibility and encourages students to engage in community service, fostering a sense of empathy and social awareness among youth. 

Objectives

 

  • Personality Development: NSS aims to develop the personality of students through community service. It provides an opportunity for the students to work with the people around the community, understand their needs, and find solutions to local problems.
  • Community Engagement: NSS encourages students to actively participate in community service activities. By doing so, they learn about the community’s issues and contribute to its overall development.
  • Social Welfare: NSS volunteers work towards the welfare of society. They engage in activities related to health, education, environment, and social awareness to uplift the underprivileged sections of society.
  • Skill Development: NSS provides a platform for students to develop leadership, organizational, and management skills. They learn to work in teams, plan and execute projects, and communicate effectively.
  • Promotion of Civic Sense: NSS instills a sense of civic responsibility and social commitment among the youth. It promotes the idea of living for others and working towards the betterment of society.
  • National Integration: NSS fosters a sense of unity and integrity among the diverse cultures and communities in India. Volunteers from different backgrounds come together to work towards common goals, promoting national integration.
  • Health Awareness: NSS conducts health camps, awareness programs, and campaigns to educate people about various health issues, hygiene, and preventive measures.
  • Environment Conservation: NSS organizes tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and environmental awareness programs to promote a sustainable environment.

Type of Activities

 

There are two types of activities: Regular Activities (120 hours) and Annual Special Camp(120 hours). All the NSS volunteers who have served NSS for at least 2 years and have performed 240 hours of work under NSS are entitled to a certificate from the University under the signature of the Vice-Chancellor and the Programme Coordinator. The Annual Camps are known as Special Camps. Camps are held annually, funded by the Government of India, and are usually located in a rural village or a city suburb. Volunteers may be involved in activities such as

  • Cleaning
  • Afforestation
  • Stage shows or a procession creating awareness of such issues as social problems, education, and cleanliness
  • Awareness Rallies
  • Inviting doctors to health camps
  • Community Survey etc.

Aim

 The programme aims at instilling the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. The NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, the volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite the scarcity of resources. It also provide’s help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.

 The vision is to build the youth with the mind and spirit to serve the society and work for the social uplift of the down-trodden masses of our nation as a movement.To build a compassionate and socially conscious society where young minds actively participate in community service, promoting equality, education, health, and environmental sustainability. We envision nurturing a generation of empathetic leaders who contribute meaningfully to the welfare of society. 

Mission

 The National Service Scheme has been functioning with the motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.To empower youth through community engagement, foster social responsibility, and promote holistic development, creating responsible citizens and leaders for a better society.  .

NESIAS YOUTH REDCROSS

 Swiss businessman Henri Dunant, who came up with the idea of the Red Cross Movement after witnessing the horrors on the battlefield during the Battle of Solferino in 1859 in Italy between the Austrian army and the Franco-Sardinian alliance. The Red Cross was officially established in the year 1863, which later became the International Committee of the Red Cross. Red Cross is an active participant in a wide number of programs and services, including emergency response, disaster preparedness, community-based health and care, first aid training and activities, restoring family contact for disaster victims, and youth and volunteer activities. The Red Cross flag looks like an inverted Swiss Flag. 

Origin

 The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was established under the provision of section 8 of the IRCS Act XV of 1920 with its National Head Quarters in New Delhi. The core focus of IRCS is to promote Humanitarian Principles and Values, Disaster Management, Health and Care in Community and Blood Services. 

Overview

 The Youth Red Cross Society is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross Society. It is a group movement organized at the initial stages for students between 18 and 25 years of age within the colleges. Under the guidance of Program Officer, the students are trained and encouraged to manage various program. The motto of Youth Red Cross (YRC) is "to serve". 

Objectives

  • To develop Organizational skills, charitable services & civil leadership in our students
  • Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others
  • To foster better friendly relationship with all without any discrimination.

Purpose

 he Sports Committee is to promote every individual's health, physical well-being as well as the acquisition of physical skills among the students. The committee aspires to inculcate qualities such as sportsmanship, team spirit and bonding. 

Objectives

  • Develop physical fitness.
  • Understand the importance of sports.
  • Get opportunity to be innovative and creative in sports.
  • To develop an appreciation of the concepts of honest competition.
  • To develop the capacity to maintain the interest in sports.
  • To develop leadership skills and qualities.

Purpose

  •   The committee shall promote sports activities by motivating students and member's faculty.

 Prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees. Deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.

 To determine whether a student meets the requirements with regard to knowledge, insight and skills, which are laid down in the program and examination regulations, for obtaining internal marks. To improve and control the quality of internal examinations to be conducted at institute level. 

Objectives

 To improve and control the quality of internal examinations to be conducted at institute level. To appoint examiners for conducting exams. To take measures against any misconduct or fraud. To display the statement of internal marks on student notice board and sending a mark sheet of student to respective parents. 

Purpose

Internal assessment are: To integrate the process of teaching and evaluation. To test inherent skills and analytical abilities of the students that cannot be substituted by a written examination. To continuously formulate innovative ideas in a congenial environment.

To prepare time table for all the Courses in the prescribed format before the beginning of odd and even semesters and communicate the same to staff and students. To allocate lecture halls, without any overlapping. Makes necessary changes in the timetable in case of clash of timings.

Objectives

 Ensuring that conflicts in Timetable are avoided. Providing the information regarding Timetables and venue to any of the departmental committees. Coordinating the Timetables and making it available to the faculty on the prescribed day before each semester. 

Purpose

The Timetable Committee is responsible for creating and managing the schedules for classes, exams, and other academic activities. They ensure that the timetable is balanced, efficient, and meets the needs of both students and faculty.
